Your Test Becomes Your Testimony
When God makes wet places dry and dry places wet!
"Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." Exodus. 14:13-14

Moses had just taken on the mammoth task of rescuing the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Under Gods mandate to deliver them into the Promised Land, Exodus details their first challenging hindrance. They were hemmed in by mountainous terrain, with Pharaoh's armies on their heels and nowhere to go. Even more troubling was the question of the Red Sea! Where could they go and what were their options? With the force of a mighty army pursuing them, and blockaded by inhospitable territory, clearly there was no place to take refuge. BUT Moses remembered the Lords promise of Deliverance and stood his ground!

Rewind to when Moses was a baby, threatened with death by Pharaoh's decree to have all firstborn Hebrew boys killed, his mother and sister Miriam had to devise a plan to save him. They placed him in a waterproof basket and set it among the reeds on the bank of the river Nile. It was the most difficult decision to let go of their son and brother, but Jochebed realised she was entrusting Him into Gods keeping. I bet she never imagined that one day he would lead over two million people out of the bondage of Egypt's slavery? Pharaoh's daughter found him and took him to be groomed and brought up as an Egyptian. The very same government that wanted him dead, had rescued him. God will always reverse the curse, the threat to your purpose, when you let go and let God. He does furnish a table before us in the presence of our enemies!
Moses found himself at another water's edge, pursued by the same regime that wanted him and all of the Israelites killed. Scripture says Pharaoh had despatched his best horsemen, chariots and troops. In natural conditions, Moses had no chance against Pharaoh's military might, but Moses and His people had God. Its mind boggling to think that all Moses had was a staff, a rod in his hand, versus the military prowess of Egypt's army.

When God promises, He delivers on those promises. Irrespective of the conditions and circumstances, He is the God of the impossible. Moses sought the Lord. They cried out to God for help. They could so easily have panicked and chose a cowardice form of escape into the sea, but they stood firm. Even the fiercest and powerful armies cannot come up against Gods chosen people. He delivers us from all our foes, from all evil. He goes before us, His timing is impeccable. When you think on how two million people were able to cross over a sea that God parted, a dry bed, with waves of water on either side, to the timing of when every Israelite had safely crossed over, to the moment when those waves came crashing over, completely annihilating everyone of Pharaoh's armies, then yes, it is not chance, or a natural phenomenon, but Gods split second perfect timing.

He is the God who gives us streams in the desert. "For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland" Isaiah 43:19. The same God of Providence and Deliverance is able to provide a stream in the desert. He is able to open a new way, not just the Red Sea, but even in barrenness and wilderness conditions he brings life, water and fruitfulness. He brings Salvation and the Gospel to all nations of this world. Many will see and discover the love of God and His all-encompassing goodness. Whether you feel smothered and hemmed in by life's struggles, whether you feel you're on barren arid lifeless ground. The good news is our God of the Impossible is able to change all of our struggles and conditions regardless of how impossibly hopeless they appear.

Do you believe the Promises of Jesus? Then like Moses, stand your ground and boldly declare that you shall not be afraid, that you will see the Salvation of the Lord, the Lord will fight for you and you will be at peace!

He will make a way when there is none!
