Reason for Every Season
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven”- (Ecc: 1:3)

God’s ingenious order and plan for the earth is superbly and skillfully evident in the seasons as we know and experience, (winter, spring, summer, fall.)  Each season arrives on time and fulfills a specific purpose for a specific period as one makes way for the next.  The seasons divide the year marked by changes in weather, ecology (nature) and hours of daylight. It’s the yearly revolution of the earth around the sun that marks the changes in the intensity of sunlight that reaches the earth’s surface. This results in animals going into hibernation or migrating and plants to be dormant. How fascinating is God’s plan to maintain the planet and the Universe at large!

There’s a time to sow, and a time to reap. Key elements in sowing is having good seed, fertile soil and planting in the right season.  Then come the nurturing, (watering, weeding and pruning) to prevent premature death, and to contend with the many irritants and predators who constantly seek to feed off, choke and destroy the crop.  Perhaps the most challenging is the waiting process. After all the Sower has done in his ability he has to rely on time and patience to see the fruit of his labor!  Finally Harvest arrives! – One seed sown has now multiplied itself into many fruit and many more seeds.

Seasons are essential for our lives too. Just as we make adjustments and prepare for each natural season, we need to do the same in our personal ones.  The book of (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8), describes this reasoning, “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven”

“I am the True Vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does not bear fruit He prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” (John 15:1, 2)

Friends don’t despise the season you are in, if you have God the Father as your gardener, then rest assured that He is at work in your life removing what’s choking and hindering you from being the fruitful purposeful person He has created you to be. He sees your potential and knows what you are capable of producing given the right time, season, pruning, nurturing and waiting!  However long and painful this process is – Harvest Comes!  “Weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” (Ps 30:5) – A wonderful comfort and reminder that this process and season is for a time!  

Trust Him and remain steadfast and patient in all of your joys and trials.  Never imagine that you are so far removed from His Love, Grace and Forgiveness that you cannot and do not deserve a second chance.  Come to Jesus now, in whatever season life finds you and get connected to the True Vine. Your life will never be the same again.

“It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow” (1 Corinth: 3:7)

You are precious in His sight – You are the Seed!
